Bangkok Reaching for the Skies – 10 New Skyscrapers in Development
Bangkok has certainly been a city in transition over the past couple of decades but not at quite the rate it will be over the next few years. The city is heading skywards as there are set to be a total of ten new towers that are more than 300 meters tall being added to the cities sky-line.
Take a look as we take you through the four skyscrapers and six condominiums that will be arriving in Bangkok between now and 2019.
Easily the most anticipated building project in Thailand right now is that of the construction of the unofficially named ‘Super Tower’. This skyscraper is set to become not just the tallest building in Thailand but also in the whole of Asia, whilst it will also rank on a global scale in a very respectable seventh place.
It is too early to comment on what is going to be inside the development as it is still in the very early stages but it is thought that it will mainly be used for both business and tourism as well as obviously offering plenty of upscale residential options including that of a six-star hotel.

Icon Siam Tower A
Bangkok certainly loves their community shopping complexes and they are now just a couple of years away from the largest one in the country. It will be found within the Icon Siam Tower A, a new development from the Siampiwat Group that they are calling a ‘national symbol of pride’. It is also set to include a national museum and a condominium.

The first of the new sky rise developments to get completed will be this gorgeously designed ‘Mahanakhon Tower’ which is set to be completed next year in 2015. This extremely up market tower will provide the most expensive residences in Bangkok, with the penthouse having already been sold for a stunning B480 million. If you are interested, there are still some units available for purchase if you have at least B43 million in your back pocket.

Expected Date of Completion: 2015
2017 will see the completion of the highly anticipated Landmark Waterfront that will consist of three important areas. The first will be the Capella Residences in the main tower whilst the two other areas will contain two well-known hotel establishments in Capella and Jumeirah. Both luxury hotels and resorts are expected to enhance the experience of foreign visitors to this tourist destination.

Six New Condominiums
Okay, so there is not as much excitement when it comes to new condominiums being built but when you have six new towers planned in the next few years, they are going to have a definite effect on the Bangkok skyline.
- Magnolia Ratchadamri
There is the Magnolia Ratchadamri that is 60 floors high and is set to be completed in 2016. This tower which is being developed by Magnolia Finest Corporation Limited will offer a condominium and a luxurious Waldorf Astoria hotel.
- Canapaya Residences
The Canapaya Residences will offer far more than just a condominium with the 57 floor building also providing a hotel, marina and retail plaza. Set for an opening date of 2018, the Canapaya will provide a stunning view over the Chao Phraya River and even allow for yacht docking via its marina.
- Menam Residences
Another development that will be looking over the gorgeous Chao Phraya River is that of Menam Residences which is set to be finished in 2017. The 59 floor condominium and 5 star hotel will also provide some luxurious restaurants, bars and plenty of business utilities that make Menam the perfect choice for tourists, residents and businessmen alike.
- Marque Sukhumvit
The 50 floor Marque Sukhumvit is going to be a 2017 condominium that not only offers up some high class permanent residences but also a wide range of excellent facilities. A retail center is on hand to provide you with your shopping needs, whilst you can take advantage of a roof garden, golf simulator and a selection of wine bars.
- The Bangkok Sathon
If you prefer to stay in a more quiet area of Bangkok, away from all the nightlife and busy traffic, then the Bangkok Sathon will probably be your cup of tea. The 55 floor condo is right at a highway entrance, allowing you to avoid the nasty traffic around Sathorn and is generally known as peaceful area.
- Noble Phloenchit
Certainly not the best looking development on this list but the 52 floor high rise ‘Noble Phloenchit’ condominium that is set to be completed in 2016, is aiming to be known more for its perfect location among the malls and embassies as well as being close to some excellent restaurants and night spots.
