Things British Expats love about Thailand

Things British Expats love about Thailand

P1020009A

There are quite a lot of British expats in Thailand…. if you are thinking of moving here, apart from knowing you will find people ‘from home’ here are a few other reasons why British expats love Thailand.

  • The Weather – Let’s be honest the weather and how its ‘gloomy’ and ‘unpredictable’ it can be is a constant complaint when you live in the UK. Well in Thailand the weather is as predictable as its gets – sunshine, sunshine and a little more sunshine. Of course, there is the rainy season, but even when it’s raining it’s still kind of bright.
  •

  • The British Styled Pubs – That’s right, you do not have to give up your evenings at the Pub, Bangkok boasts a multitude of British styled pubs that you will feel right at home in. Most of them are around the Sukhumvit or Silom areas of Bangkok. The varieties in these pubs are great ranging from local Thai beers (Singha) to imported classics like Heineken and Guinness and the prices are amazing compared to what most expats are used to.
  •

  • The Thai Lifestyle – The lifestyle in Thailand is very relaxed and easy going just like the people. This easy going lifestyle is also reflected in the Thai workplaces, and most of the time it can be a welcome break from fast pace of working in the UK, giving you a little more family time as well.
  •

  •  Christmas in Bangkok – Nothing beats the experience of Christmas in London, and being away during the season can be a real downer. While no place can match that London experience living in a country that celebrates Christmas goes a long way towards staving off the seasonal blues. Unlike most other countries in the east, in Thailand, Christmas is a pretty big deal and celebrated on a grand scale so be prepared to keep your holiday traditions going.
