Bangkok has quite a number of parks. The interesting activities that these parks have to offer to their visitors are quite extensive, for instance, nature watching, recreational activities, cultural events, and so forth.

Below are the best parks in Bangkok and where they are located.

Lumpini Park

In terms of location within the vastness of Bangkok city, Lumpini is the most centrally located. Lumpini Park offers an easy welcome break from the hustle and bustle that characterizes Bangkok city.

Due to its great location within the city, this park is also a good place to observe the city’s towering skyscrapers as you enjoy the fresh breath and the greenery that fills the park. Lumpini Park is located along Rama IV Road, and can be accessed using the subway, which can drop you next to the park.

Sanam Luang Park

Sanam Luang Park, also called the Royal Field, is a supremely located park, especially in relation to other major attractions throughout Bangkok city. Close to Sanam Luang Park are the Grand Palace, one of the must-see sights in Bangkok and Thailand in general and the National Museum, whereby you can take a leisurely walk as you observe Thailand’s fascinating past.

Sanam Luang Park is located in the middle of Rattanakosin Island, and you can can easily access it using a taxi or a boat.

Chatuchak Park

This park is great if you are looking for a great place to enjoy sporting events such as tennis, basketball, and soccer.

Benjakitti Park

Benjakitti Park’s location near Lake Ratchada and a little further from the Bangkok city ensures that its visitors enjoy great views of the Bangkok skyline. This is therefore a good place to visit if you would like to enjoy some relaxed time away from the city while still keeping it within your sights. This park is opposite Queen Sirikit National Conventional Centre.

You can get to the park through a short walk after disembarking from the BTS on exit 4.

Benjasiri Park

Also called the Queen’s Park, Benjasiri Park is located next to the Emporium Shopping Centre. The park offers numerous attractions including sculptures, water shows, and other recreational activities.

You can easily access the park by taking the BTS up to Phrom Phong.

King Rama IX Park

King Rama IX Park is located on Sukhumvit 103. As the name suggests, this is a commemorative park built to remember the King’s 60th birthday. You can get to this park using the BTS train system and alighting at On Nut, and them making the rest of the journey using a taxi.

At King Rama IX Park you can enjoy the beautiful greenery, see interesting aquatic life, and attend various shows and festivals.

Conclusion

Knowing about the existence of a popular Bangkok park is not enough, you still need to know where they are located, and more importantly, how to get there. Some parks are quite easy to access, for instance, Lumpini Park which is right in the middle of the city and Sanam Luang Park which is close to other major Bangkok attractions.

However, with a little effort, you can still get to other great parks within Bangkok.
